Kick Indoor Allergens to the Curb This Spring

AllergiesAllergyAsthma

Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex means battling outdoor allergens … and indoor allergens … thanks to our hot and humid climate.

The Usual Suspects Pet dander, dust mites, cockroach droppings and mold flourish in poorly ventilated or damp areas like bathrooms and kitchens, even in air conditioning units. Fear not. We’ve got some tips!

  • Keep It Clean: Regularly dust and vacuum, wash bedding in hot water and maintain a clean home to fend off mites.
  • Humidity Control: Keep humidity levels low to discourage mold growth and fix any leaks. Less than 65%
  • Pet Patrol: Groom and bathe pets often and consider keeping bedrooms pet-free.
  • Proper Ventilation: Use exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens, consider air purifiers and open windows for fresh air.

If you’ve tried it all and are ready for some real improvement, allergy shots may be your best bet.

“By targeting specific allergens and getting straight to the source, we can get you’re feeling better, fast, with personalized allergy shots.” – Dr. John Van Wagoner, Southwest Allergy and Asthma Center – Plano.

Take charge of indoor allergies this season and schedule a consultation and same day testing.
